time worlds -shoes

For this project I decided to use one of the phrases from my time worlds piece. The line "his coffin no bigger then a shoebox" seemed to stand out to many people.. I decided to change the meaning of this line by taking a more literal appoach, and documenting the lifespan of shoes... sounds will be added soon.

  1. I think the idea to take the shoes from the quote is great. The coffin could have been a little morbid. I like the way you filmed it, and the movement from inside to outside. A suggestion that I have is to maybe slow it down a bit, because it moves so fast that you can't notice all of the places that the shoes go. Also, I am curious to see what sound you are going to add.

  2. I agree with Jenny. The entire video goes by a little quickly and I think that makes the video a little confusing. I like the changes in scenery, but I think that you should focus a little more on the shoes in your shots. I think that changing the camera shots would help, so maybe just reshooting a few of your scenes would help to incorporate different camera angles. Things that we talked about in class, like the extreme close up or the wide shot, long shot, close up, things like that. But I like your idea!

  3. good start, but I think it would better show the full life cycle of shoes at the end if you showed them being thrown away instead of just being put back in the closet. having them put back in the box and into the closet doesn't really convey the idea that the shoes' "life" is over as well as it could.

  4. I like the idea of the animation. I think it could be expanded into a much longer piece. Doing so will help one understand what exactly is going on.

  5. having the shoes being put away in a closet seems like the middle instead of the end.. maybe you could expand and have them be in the closet for a time, then have them taken out, worn a but more and thrown away, making it more of a cycle then just being worn for a short amount of time. other then that i like it a lot. it feels like a lot of time is lapsed in the video, and i like how the focus is on the shoes the whole time.
